Hello World … I'm no Foolish Merchant
Goodness, setting up a blog wasn't as easy as many have said. This is my first official blog post. One of the objectives of my blog is to get to know other online recluses. Folks that like being alone, or folks that don't like being around people. A bit ironic for a recluse to want to know other recluses. Whatever …
So feel free to contact me or comment. I'm not an expert on anything. So if you've got any useful advice on whatever I'm blogging about, then please drop me a message.
There's a story about a foolish merchant. He wanted to transport a sack of wheat on his horse. So he strapped the sack of wheat on the horse's left. To balance things out, he filled up another sack with sand and strapped it on the horse's right.
A beggar by the roadside was looking on in amusement. He asked, "Dear sir, what are you doing?" The merchant replied, "Can't you see? I put a sack of wheat on the left, and a sack of sand on the right, so that the weight is evenly distributed. This way, my horse can walk properly!"
The beggar was puzzled and suggested, "Why don't you just divide the wheat in half and fill both sacks on either side?". The merchant was annoyed and retorted, "You're just an old beggar! Why should I listen to you?" The merchant continued, "If I followed your advice, I'll end up like you … a penniless beggar!"
Dear readers, I'm no foolish merchant. I won't reject good advice. It doesn't matter if you're riddled with imperfections, or if you really are perfect (or simply think you are). Good advice is good advice, regardless of the source. So feel free to comment in my little blog. I recognize that this first post is probably not going to get read since I'm still starting out. Whatever …
